My Story:

I TUPE’d over to Morrison from the council six years ago and cover all the day to day emergencies and R1 jobs which have to be completed within 24 hours. I also look after non housing work, which involves working in schools and public buildings.

On a daily basis I will carryout a wide range of plumbing repairs including burst pipes, renewing water tanks, fixing toilets and taps and sometimes unblocking drains.

I think it’s really important to be able to communicate well in my job, as sometimes you have to deal with a difficult situation and you need to have the ability to diffuse these quickly.

Recently I was called to attend a bad leak, which was flooding one of our customer’s properties. The leak was coming from the property above which was empty. The tenant was very upset, so to help her out I rang the estate agent who was letting the upstairs flat and arranged for a key holder to come over and let me into the property so I could isolate the leak and stop the water. The tenant really appreciated the effort I took and it was great to satisfy the customer and know that the problem had been resolved.
