Everybody produces waste. At Morrison we work hard in our procurement department to ‘design out’ waste in the supply chain before it even arrives with us. Of course we do produce waste in the everyday running of our business but it’s what you do with it that counts.

We’re committed to reducing volumes of waste to landfill. For example, we will typically re-use 10% of materials on site, and recycle 80% of material from skips. Overall we recycle approximately 79% of our business waste. We know this because we put in place tight reporting and monitoring.

We only use waste management contractors that we have audited and who meet our high standards and requirements. Each month our contractors supply us with their waste data, which is then analysed through our waste management auditing process to ensure we know exactly what is happening to our waste.

As part of our Environmental Management System audit process we randomly sample waste transfer notes and check them off against the waste management contractor form.
